Sizing.

Three sizes, made to fit a head of 58 cm (Medium/Large), 56 cm (Small/Medium) and 54 cm (Kids). Measure your head, then find it on the band.

How to measure

Wrap a soft tape measure round your head where the hat sits: about a finger's width above your eyebrows and the tops of your ears, level all the way round. Read it where the tape meets, snug but not tight. No tape? Use a piece of string and lay it along a ruler.

Right between two sizes? Order the bigger one. Over 60 cm, Medium/Large is our biggest size.

Shipping and returns.

Where do you ship?

To addresses in the United States, for free.

When will my hat arrive?

• Core Collection hats and Brim Masters usually ship within a few business days.
• Proofs ship about 4–6 weeks after the clock ends.
• Private runs ship about 4–6 weeks after you approve the mockup.

If we're running late, we'll email you with a new date, and you can cancel for a full refund.

Can I send a hat back?

Core Collection hats and Brim Masters: yes, within 30 days of delivery, unworn and as it arrived. We'll refund you or swap it for another size.

Proofs and private runs are made for you, so they're final sale.

Something's wrong with my hat.

Email hello@slabhats.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. If it's faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, we'll replace it or refund you, and you won't pay to send it back. That goes for every hat, made to order or not.

Will it look exactly like the picture?

Close. A SLABoratory design's picture is made by computer before the hat exists, and we match its colours to the closest threads we stock. Small differences in colour, size and stitch aren't faults. More on the pictures.

Proofs.

What's a proof?

A design you made in the SLABoratory, on the board for anyone to buy. We check it first. Once it's live it has 7 days to reach 25 hats ordered. Hit 25 and it's inked: we make every hat ordered before the clock ends, with your name sewn inside.

When am I charged for joining?

Only if it gets made. Joining costs $0 today. If the proof reaches 25 hats before its clock ends, you're charged once, when the clock ends. If it doesn't, you pay nothing.

Can I change my mind?

Yes. Leave any time before the clock ends and nothing is charged.

What if it doesn't reach 25?

It closes and nobody pays.

What does the designer get?

Their name sewn inside every hat in the run, and one hat free. If we later bring it back, as a Brim Master or on something else we make, we'll tell them first, and we may offer a royalty.

Who owns my design?

You do. Posting gives SLAB the only right to put it on hats, or on anything else we make, while it's live, and for good if it gets made. If it isn't made, it's all yours again. The details.

Can I use a logo, or a team or school's name?

Not on a proof: proofs have to be your own. On a private run you can, if it's yours or you have the owner's written permission.

What's the Vault?

Where a proof goes when its clock ends after it got made. It closes for good and is never sold again as that proof. We may bring one back as a Brim Master, a new edition with the designer's signed label.

Can I share my proof?

Please do. Say it's your design.

Private runs.

Who are they for?

A team, club, chapter, event, party or company. 25 hats and up, any mix of sizes. Private: a run never goes on the Proofs board.

What do they cost?

$49 a hat, less from 50 hats: the rate shows as you add sizes. From 500 hats, a person prices it.

What happens after I order?

We send a mockup. We make the hats once you approve it, and they arrive about 4–6 weeks after that.

Can we put our logo on it?

Yes, if it's yours or you have the owner's written permission. We may ask you to show it.

Can we cancel?

Before you approve the mockup, with a full refund. After that the run is final sale.

The SLABoratory.

Is it free?

Yes. Every design costs us to make, so limits apply, and they may change.

Is it AI?

Yes. Your words and pictures go to third-party AI services that make the art. AI gets things wrong sometimes, so check your hat before you post or order it.

What happens to what I type and add?

It's used to make your design. We don't use it to train AI. More in the Privacy Policy.

Who can use it?

Anyone 18 or over.

It drew a real logo. Can I order that?

Only on a private run, and only if the logo is yours or you have permission. Drawing it is play. Making it takes the owner's yes.

Can I film it?

Yes. Post screen recordings and pictures of your designs anywhere you like.

Privacy.

Do you record my visit?

Yes. An analytics tool records how people use the site, so we can see what works and fix what doesn't. How it works and how to block it.

Do you use my information for ads?

Yes. We and our ad partners use some of it, like the pages you visit here, to show you SLAB ads on other sites and apps. To opt out, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, or email us. Your privacy choices.
